vibration in steering wheel

Hello all. I have a 00 GP GT with 90k on the clock and am getting a steering wheel vibration whenever I go above 60-65 mph. This was occurring about 1,500 miles ago as well, at which point I had a high speed tire balance done and it seemed to go away. The vibration is back again when I reach the speeds noted above. Do you think I need tire balancing again? Could they have lost their balance so soon? This did help last time, but I'm thinking this could be caused from something else as well...and by the way, my front tires are new with 3k on them...any ideas would be much appreciated. It is possible that the tires need rebalanced. Sometimes the tires will wear slightly and the original balancing is not good anymore. If a rebalance does not help then check the CV joints to see if there is any movement. The speed you indicate is the speed at which a CV joint will start vibrating. You may also want to check the ball joints, tie rod ends (inner and outer) and the control arm bushings. A bad tie rod end will cause a steering wheel vibration.

and by the way, my front tires are new with 3k on them...

so you only got 2 new tires? thats probably what is causing your vibration. if not...you may have a tierod or something up front going bad.

It's highly possible one of your wheel weights fell off, effectively throwing the balance off. If that checks out, then the above suggestions (tie rods, ball joints, control arm bushings and front hubs) should be checked next.
