My Hobby shop has the Tamiya 1/12th Texaco Mclaren M23 on the shelf. Problem is that it costs an arm and a leg! Do I take the plunge and get it?

Depends how much you want it...? If you think it's worth the price then buy it.If not leave it on the shelf. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

It doesn't cost much more than the 1/12th MP4/6 I bought. So its actually good value. Just sucks to not have the cash now and it'll probably go in a the next few weeks. In conversion, its about 80.00 Euro.

Ask if you can put a deposit on it and they may save it for you until you have the rest of the money. My local store will do that no problem.

I say, if you want someone to tell you what to do, then listen to me.
Go and buy it.
The post it to me.
Go and buy it.
The post it to me.

It's ever great and safe sometimes feel the lack of munny and not to buy something cool (since anyone here is afected by compulsive modeling shopping): you don't feel regrets :D
Man: kit deserve, ask to the shop to take it apart for you.

OK, I think you have all convinced me to go hurt my credit card! Thanks! Lately all I do is collect and don't have a spare moment to build! This is one kit I'll have to do sooner rather than later.

I know that feeling I buy more and more kits, they are really stacking up now.My problem sometimes is not the lack of time for building, but the lack of motivation...!!!! I always see the negatives in a kit and convince myself I won't do a proper job on the build, so I leave it for another day.Trouble is that 'other' day never seems to come :disappoin I should seriously consider thinning out my collection and keep the kits that I really want to build

I think you worded it better than me Steve, because if I had motivation I'd make time for it. Even leaving an unfinished model (I have a few of those) under my nose so I see it everytime I walk into the house doesn't work! As I said to my wife, I'm stockpiling so I have something to do when I retire!
