Hey guys
Wondering what your opinions are on this 0w30 castrol syntec that says made in germany on the back. Can only buy this stuff in 1L jugs but have heard its really good. I live on the west coast in canada, doesnt get too cold but wondering if this is ok to run year round and also if you think i should even bother
running syntec 5w30 right now, no issuse with the oil, have 165k km too not sure if id have any issues going to a true synthetic
thanks

I would not use 0w 30 in your GA. The 5w 30 should be plenty thin for your coldest weather and still give protection when its hot.
I have used castrol syntec 10w 30 for years and I live in northern Indiana, it gets pretty cold here, I dont have any problems with this heavier weight.

thanks for the reply man, I only asked cause on another forum few ppl were like you can run it year round and its one of the best oils for its additive package.
little weary about thin oils already, used mobil 1 5w30 and sware i could hear the piston slap more than usual (this wasnt their extended protection however) but went back to syntec cause it feels better on my engine (i sware lol)
have just heard the North American syntec isnt anyway near as good as the stuff thats made in Germany
