My tail lights on my 1999 silhouette keeps going out. I have narrowed the problem down to the driver's side tail light. The circuit board is the problem. I can buy the circuit board online just about anywhere. I need to find the harness elect. part that is coming from the van to the circuit board. Does anybody know where I can order this part from? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you would be able to find them used at a salvage yard. If they are in good shape I would have no problem with going used. Dorman will make pigtails for really common problems so it may be worth checking into there product line to see if they offer something.

Is your connector corrroded, burnt up or something? A guys sees a few of the boards go bad but the connectors not so much. Are you sure you have power to the connector?

Since you say it's the circuit board, (which is a very common issue with the U-body GM vans,)go ahead and replace it and see if that clears up the problem, before replacing anything else, chances are it will.
What makes you believe the harness could also be the issue? I'd also check the passenger side for corrosion, and you may have to end up replacing both boards. When installing a new board, it is important to seal out moisture from getting into the boards, which caused the issues in the first place. Water drains down from above and enters the area where the electrical connections are and causes the problem. I also use a little di-electric grease on the connections as an "added protection" from moisture and corrosion.
If you still need a harness, try calling Rock Auto, 1-866-762-5288. They have many of the "harder-to-find" parts for many vehicles. I've had good luck getting parts from them. With so many problems related to the boards, I'd be wary of a used one.

The boards definitely new!

The pigtail is what I had no problem with getting used.

Thanks guys. I am going to repalace the circuit board first. The dealership wants 80 bucks for the harness, which I beleive is way too much. I will also try the salvage yards for the harness.
