Alright, first off on the 6 speed when you shift to 6th gear there is supposed to be some resistance if you happen to go to far over to the right. Of course this is to prevent you from accidently going into reverse instead of 6th. My car does this but only for the first 20-30 minutes of driving. After that there is absolutely no resistance when shifting to reverse. This is obviously a bit of a problem whenever I want to shift to 6th gear. Sometimes I will accidently go into reverse and it will grind bad. So I want to fix this ASAP.

Secondly where do you adjust the clutch pedal at? Thanks for the help.

i've not driven a 6spd 3/s, but isn't 6th right under 5th gear, i wouldn't imagine you having to move the shifter knob over at all, just straight back, usually if there's a lil bit of a change in direction even a direct pull back will work. as for the lockout, i'm not sure

becasue after 20-30 minutes of driving, the tranny lube is all warmed up, so it shifts easier. You just notice it more going into 6th because there's usually more resistance.

just a guess...i know my 5-speed gets much easier to shift when it's warmed up. Before my tranny is warmed up, i can't downshift to 1st unless i'm going like 5mph...once it's warmed up though, easy as any other gear. i would suspect it's the same thing.

on my six speed there is a gate that you pass through to get into reverse, you feel it and its pretty obvious, so you'd have to reeallly be not paying attention to accidently throw it into reverse. but no sixth gear resistance, for mine anyways.

Hmm that's weird I thought that was just a standard safetly feature on the 6 speeds. I wonder if my shifter linkage needs adjustment or something because it is really way to easy to mis-shift.

The thing is it feels like I'm going straight back but somehow ends up in reverse.

maybe when pulling back just pull it a little towards you. or another thing, 6th gear being messed up. you could just not use sixth. everything i read the mpg between 5th and sixth isn't much of a difference on the average ommute to work, just leave the car in 5th

I'm with Blink, it just gets easier when your transmission oil warms up as it is a high viscosity oil. My 1st and 2nd gear are definately a little more stiff for the first couple of minutes of driving. After that, it is completey fine. However, you may want to try adding some synchro mesh which from what I have heard others say works very well for smoother shifts when the transmission oil is still cold.

Well, being that it's a hydraulic clutch it self-adjusts but you can also do a manual adjustment on the pedal as well. Lean your driver's side seat back and lay upside-down on it so that you head is where the gas, brake, and clutch pedals are. (Actually kind of comfortable lol) The bar coming through the firewall has a nut on it that allows the pedal itself to be adjusted by loosening the nut and then tightening it back up after your finished. Make sure to leave an inch or two of play in the pedal though.

If you adjust the pedel Don't move in very much! Also When was the last time you changed your Tranny fluid? check your shift linkage under the hood and make sure nothing is touching or getting in the way of it. How are your motor mounts?

I am also having a problem shifting to 5th gear it doesn't grind at all but it is very stiff even when the car is warmed up. Sometimes even taking it out of 5th it is stiff it almost feels stuck(has always come out of gear though). So this really makes me wonder if all my problems are just because of the linkage being off.

Well the fluid should be pretty new I just got a rebuilt transmission in the car 8 or so months ago. Also I have solid motor mounts from 3sx.
