I purchased a used amp from a auction, obviously...And was wondering if there is any risk hooking it up to my deck, I currently have a amp/subs hooked up and was just wanting to test this one to see if it works, but was wondering if it could fry my deck or subs? Or if there is any other way to test it.

Well I just hooked it up and it doesnt power on, the light stays off, is there any fix to this or is it just garbage?

Umm, maybe not, I connected everything but a remote wire would that be the auto turn on thing? It has a weird plug in for the remote and mine wouldnt hook in so didnt hook it up. I dont know alot about these obviously so bear with me, I just knew it was a Alpine amp and it went dirt cheap so I baught it.

the aut turn omn or remote wire is the switch that turns the amp on. If it's not getting 12V, the amp will NOT turn on. If you have an aftermarket CD player, there will be a blue wire with a white stripe - it goes to the remote on the amp.

yeah I have a remote ran back to my other amp just didnt wanna cut the end off to test this one, I guess I will anyway tomarrow will let you guys know what happens, thanks, i just didnt relize the remote had to be on I always thought the remote wire let you change the bass in the head unit options (im obviously clueless about this)

there may be a remote jack that looks like a phone jack, it takes a phone wire connector. That often DOES control the bass level. This a connector that will usually be right next to the power wire and just has a single wire or hole.
