Hi,
After browsing this forum for a couple of years i have decided i should be more active and contribute as i've learned so much from all you guys.
I don't know if this is the right place to post this tip but hope i'll be corrected if i'm wrong.
I wanted to share a tip i've been to myself for some time. It can be used both for motorcycle muffler springs as well as engine throttle return spring or wherever one might find it useful.
I am assuming that i am the first one to come up with this but i might be wrong.
Anyways...
What you will need is:
A hammer
Halogen lamps (depends what size you want to use as they are available in different sizes. Car bulbs can also be used)
A paper towel

I usually wrap the bulb in a kitchen towel or any piece of cloth and lightly hammer it till the glass breaks.

I then remove the spring out from the shattered glass using great care not to injure myself.

There you have a cheap or free(as you can use your fused bulbs), faster and more true to scale alternative to making them yourself.

Please be very careful as the shattered glass can injure you and also please dispose the glass responsibly.
I hope you will find this tip useful.
Thanks and regards,
