power steering problem
whole lot of noise when turning when stopped. and it sounds like a blower when you get on the gas
is it a pulley issue or the whole unit?
it was once replaced with a new pulley ten thousand miles ago, so im a little confused
any help would be appreciated

on older cars a squeel would signify a loose belt but with a serpintine that is not as likely (some belts will squeek but it is generally not constant). What will cause a steering pump to howl would be a low fluid level.

Sounds like the pump is shot!
I've seen and heard this many times with these newr pumps.
I'd recommend flushing the system good before installing a new pump.

Might try flushing it before you replace the pump again.
Thier is a flush procedure in the Tips and Maintenance (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=2148)section.
They even recommed replacing the hoses they break down and cuase the fluid to turn brown/black(should be clear), but if they arent leaking you probly dont need to yet. :2cents:
