Rear Brakes

when i first got my truck within two weeks i had to put new brake pads on it because i lost the dust cover. they always squeaked since i put the new ones on. well now they are squeakin constantly when i am drivin like there is sand in there. but the dust covers are still there. is there ne thing i can put in there to stop that or are the brakes bad again already.
