90 Contiental Check Dcl

I Have A 1990 Cont. That Will Run A Couple Miles Then Engine Quits
It Will Start Back Up Easy -then Run A Few More Miles
I Am Also Getting A Beep On Dash That Says Check Dcl.
Can The Check Dcl Cause Engine To Stop.. Thanks For Any Feedback..
