2000 Blazer stuck in first gear

I just had the transmission rebuilt less than 70 miles ago. When I was driving home the speedometer quit working and the trans. will not shift out of first gear. What could have caused this to happen?:banghead: Thanks for your help!!

Speed sensor or wiring?
Did it come unpluged?
Why was transmission rebuilt?
What was it doing or not doing to start with?
I would take it back to the rebuilder and have him check ir out.
