starting issues

hey again everyone, my 97 grand prix gtp has been starting rough lately. it cranks for wayy too long and then starts up kinda rough before it starts to smooth out. i recently had a code P0171(lean fuel bank 1) which was supposedly fixed, but im not sure since the SES light is still on. it may be another problem. i will have it scanned and find out soon, but until then is there anything else that may cause this starting problem?

Make sure the fuel pressure regulator is not leaking. Pull of the vacuum hose and cycle the key a couple of times. It may take a few minutes to see gas coming out if it is leaking so be patient.

if the fuel pressure is leaking into the vacuum line, he wont get a "system to lean" DTC, it will run rich.

I realize that but........

Why are you continuing to start new posts on what appears to be the same issue or previously posted issues? I warned you about that. Now all you are doing is causing confusion. It doesn't do any good by reposting. Try to keep track of your old posts.

dude im willing to bet its the check valve in ur sending unit wat happens is it looses its fuel prime and it wont start intell it gets enough fuel mine wouldnt start by turn of the key if it sat for more than five min after the car sits for a half hour after running hit the shrader valve on the fuel rail a gas stream should almost hit the hood if it trickles out the check valve is bad the code im not sure about tho
