Aftermarket stereo question

I have an '05 Duramax with a Bose indash 6 CD stereo. THe CD has been acting up for quite awhile.
Does anyone know if a basic all-in-one aftermarket unit will work or is it going to screw something up in the truck's wiring system?
This was an issue with a monsoon system I had in a VW.
