someone answer this please...

my brake lights do not work at all unless key is in switch. is this normal for 1994 bmw 325??? also has aftermarket alarm and since horn nor lights work without key in ignition i dont ever know if it arms or if the alarm ever goes off???
can someone here have the decency to answer my question please??? thanks in advance...

well my freind, arm the car and take the front bumper and push up and down on it, bounce it. if alarm goes off it works, the system i think is hooked up with your lights also. alarm goes off, lights, horn, running lights should all be flashing. track down who installed the system and ask them

thanks friend but I really want to know why my lights,horn and brakelights only work if key is in ignition and switched on.they have always worked like that even before alarm was installed. That being said the alarm only sounds if ignition is on

check your constant & switch hookups on your alarm install, thats where you'll find the problem at.
