Possible out of Gas

Ok so I was driving on campus today and my car started shaking at idle and my low fuel light was on then my services engine soon light started flashing and then my car shut off. Luckily i was on a hill and was able to roll into a parking spot. Does this mean I am out of gas? and if so is there something I need to do before fueling it up again?

Probably. The SES light flashing is a misfire condition and common to see at the point where you run out of gas. Just fuel up sufficiently. Take the ignition switch to fuel pump prime (Ignition ON, not START) a few times before starting the engine. This will get the fuel lines recharged and the fuel pressure up enough.

BTW - Best to fuel up when the low fuel light turns on. When it does you may only have about 1.5-2 gallons left.
