so, i got into my car, and the fuel pressure gauge went to 0, then shot to 100psi(the limit of the gauge)....car runs fine...does this mean its definately a gauge malfunction?

Sounds like a loose wire. Mine was doing the same for a while because it was grounding out to the steering column. Trace the wires and make sure no shorts and that the connectors to the gauge and the sensor are good.

Damn...got that fixed...now i got another problem...
The owner b4 me installed an apexi turbo timer. Just 2day it turned off. So i went to playing with it and traced the wire, it worked again for about 2 seconds, turned off, hasnt worked since...
I traced the only cord that comes out of it, it eventually goes to a little black piece and comes out as a red wire and black wire. this then ends at a small black module. So i open up the ground wire, and ran it straight to a ground. I could hear the module clicking on and off, but the unit itself wouldnt come on, and its fairly new, i havent hit it or done anything else to it that would cause it to malfunction...
any ideas?

is this just the power source? if it is then just pick a new + 12v wire that isn't shorted.

i traced the wire of the turbo timer, turns out it had come unplugged from the ignition box under the steering column lol...
dont i feel stupid
but i do feel better haha
thanks anyways, oh and fp gauge is still messing up, but if i was running that much fp would i know it? i mean 100 psi...whens its supposed to be less than 50 at idle...thats what the gauge reads..
and also, a guy today told me that even 47 was too high(where i have it set)
is it? with my mods? i mean the car doesnt sputter or spark knock or anything, all the way through the power band...so something must be right

You'd be blowing off fuel lines if you were running over 100psi from start to finish. Stock lines aren't made for that kind of pressure. 47 is too high. I have 48 right now actually because of my FMU. Base is what, 36psi?

ok awesome...ill tinker with it when i get my air/fuel gauge...see if i can keep it on a prime setting...is this the best way to do that without having a a/f controller? just sort of gauge it by the meter..?

If you're getting a non-wideband gauge, send it back as soon as it hits your doorstep.
With a wideband setup, you can get your fuel trims in line using some sort of management device and a logging device. Trying to "guess at it" will leave you pissing in the wind.
Oh wait, did I just help you?

lol, yeah, i just wanna stay outta the red is all, make sure im not running rich at anytime...tweak it from there?
i am planning on getting some things from apexi when i get it tuned in a few weeks...guess i can just wait, im not having any problems or anything...my engine is still in one piece lol

lol yeah, i just wanna make sure i stay out of the red
wanna monitor it better, but i mean im not having any problems, and my engine is still in one piece lol
umm, im planning on getting it tuned, and when i do im buying a air/fuel controller from apexi...guess i should just wait before i go tinkering, since im not really having any probs, thanks guys!

So is that a wideband or not because it doesn't sound like it. Staying "out of the red" means nothing in the context you're using.

Wideband and a logger...wait to get the cooler toys till you can be sure your motor will not be at risk.

I didn't see it answered, base pressure for 1g is 37-38 psi, 2g is 42-43 psi. I give ranges due to conflicting documentation/beliefs/strategies.
