need new tranny

I have a 88 s10 need new tranny. should I get a rebuilt or junkyard. dont even know what kind it is. 2.8 auto. any ideas

not really sure what kind of tranny is in there.. getting a rebuilt is typically more expensive but of course mostly new parts in it and often times are sold with warantees. junkyard trannys, well it a risk but usually cheap. might be hard to come by for that application though.

First thing make sure yours is bad.
What is it doing or not doing?
How many miles on it?
Is the engine and body and rear end still good?
Is it worth fixing or replacing the transmission?
How much do you want to spend on it?
Rebuilt is expensive and good used will be hard to find.
Have you check with you bone yards on it?
