oh and p.s. how do you guys pronouce tamiya is it tam-i-ya or tam-ya?

The paint might not run if you mist the first couple of coats in order to give the later coats something to stick to.:)

You might find that if you paint the hood from underneath, you will get a really nice shine. Although the colour will be slightly different from the rest of the car. I don't know why they don't make all model car bodies clear, like R/C bodies, because they have a really nice shine.
The paint should be alright, just do what antonio said.

You don't use primer? Well, then you'll have to live with consequences  And what you'll get is a semi-transparent hood. And it wil probably be a tad different colour because it doesn't have any red plastic under paint AND because you didn't spray the hood and the body together, and you get a bit different results each time you spray. Lesson? Use primer. :o

Ales is right on on this one. Without priming the entire car and hood you will never get a constistent looking color. This is especially true with Tamiya's sprays which do not have a really solid pigment which makes them very much effected by the the color underneath.

i think you just leave the hood clear cuz that would look sick wit dat engine in it or give it a tinted hood like what ever color the is.

Seen you wont use primer (i'll say nothing :finger: ..j/k)...your best bet is to lightly sand the hood with 1500 grit then paint a very light coat on both sides first. Allow to dry then do the same untill its finished
