...I thought the OIL light indicated you were down a quart.
Did you check the oil after changing it?
You need an extra quart when changing the filter also.

This should work on the 1996 and up models:
To reset the change oil light turn the ignition switch to "Run" without starting the engine.
Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds and the light will be reset.
Wait a few seconds, then Turn the ignition switch off and then back on and start the car. The light should not come on. If it has not been reset repeat the procedure. It may take a couple of tries.
