All of these cheap performance chips on ebay and such are usually some sort of resistor. First off, How do they know wht resistor to use in each motor? Second what are the possible gains of doing this? It makes no sense to me...

It just makes your car run rich, everything ive read up on these "magic" resistor pretty much says theres no real benefit.

thats an iat bypass. it tricks the computer into thinking the air going into the intake is cooler than it really is. it will damage your computer. if you want a performance chip then go to wot-tech.com and order Bens chip for $99. its a piggy back chip that your old chip connects to the top of. easy install and he offers a number of options according to your setup. I use this chip with my 92 Z.
