Hello I have an 1999 plymouth grand voyager. For the third time my dash went blank. I would turn on the ignition, the guages lit up briefly then all went dead. Here is a list of symptoms.... no working guages, no gas, no speedometer, nothing. rear windshield wiper, dead. heater, no heat but sounds like it is blowing air. also door locks no longer lock at fifteen miles an hour as well as not working with keyless without key on. I wacked the dash , nothing. checked wiring and fuses. all seemed good bought repair manual no help. then i found you all. Thank God and thank you all. my cost to repair it.....$0.00. After reading many stories of all your vehicles a couple stuck out. hmmm sounds like mine. I will tell you how I fixed mine. If you pull the neg. cable or fuse as in other threads and all is resolved, great. but if yours is as mine it won't work. I got in the car frustrated because i had to go to the store for my wife with no heat and no dash info. While sitting at the light I remember what someone in here had said about theirs. I pushed buttons, windshield, rear blower nothing . a/c button... ding!!! everything came back on. whew!! I haven't taken it apart yet because it still works but the next time it all goes out i will check that out before going to a garage or replacing anything. I knew it had to be something simple and stupid. thank you all again for your help and stories. a friend to all russell from campton nh. ps it was freakin cold this morning when i had to use the van. oh one more thing while returning home (before all was well) i noticed my rear brake light wouldnt shut off. now what?.... I removed the bottom console, where the fuse box is located by the brake petal. after a short looksee i found the prob. while looking for loose wires on the other problem i must have bumped the break switch located on bracket to the left of the break arm. it had popped out so of course the pin was fully out leaving the break light on. another quick fix i had another vehicle the breaks wouldnt work upon taking above mentioned pin apart i found the metal pin inside had worn making no contact. a couple dots of solder did the trick

I have a 98 Dodge Grand Caravan with the same basic problems. Dash gauges zero most of the time. 15 mph auto-locks not working. But climate controls work. I have removed the speedometer and resoldered the connector pins. Also took out the climate panel and inspected wires for shorts.

I tried the button sequence mentioned, but that did not work. Maybe I did it wrong however. Could someone be specific on the instuctions on the buttons to push and the sequence (push all or one at a time?); engine running? etc.

Thanks,

d4H
