Hi, I have a 99 Alero with 105k. just recently the trans appears to be slipping although it just happened out of nowhere. I bought the car used a couple months ago, since then i have replaced alternator, belts, battery, spark plugs and wires and now this issue. The car tends to "slip" after it has been driving for a short while and it does it in all gears. Im hoping there may be something other then the trans causing this. please any suggestions?!?

You thread has been moved to a more suitable section, this is the Performance section not R&R.

Get your fluid level checked on the trans.
If thats ok I'd get the trans fluid & filter changed and see if that helps.

changed trans fluid and filter as well as oil and flushed the radiator. STILL only when the engine gets warm it begins to "slip" if it were the trans components wouldnt it slip at all times? what would cause it to only do it after about 20 mins on the road? could it be a vacuum issue or sensors? idk but i do appreciate any knowledge.

Also, i neglecting to inform you that my gas gauge is always reading full. therefore it does not work properly. i dont know if this would have anything to do with the cause but i figure its worth mentioning.

Slipping more when its hot is usualy how it goes.
Things get loose the hotter it gets, could be the clutches/bands are out of adjustment or just worn out.
It could be something else, hard to say with out a proper diagnosis and a good scan. But it doesnt sound good! :grinno:

And your gas guage is typical , your tank float is bad and would need replaced to fix.
It is inside the gas tank in the fuel module, I forget what it cost by its self(without replacing the whole module for $300+) not to expensive though.

Good Luck
