08 Water Drainage question

I've had this 08 Escape for about 2 months and I've noticed that occasionally when I open the either of the drivers doors a lot of water (about a 1/2 pint each) drains out of the weep holes. Is this normal for these cars? Do the doors only drain when open?

I suspect the seals around the windows are defective. No the weep holes in the bottom of the doors should allow water to expel even with the door shut. Since it is an 08 take it back and get it fixed under warranty.

I just had this problem myself - The bottom door gasket covers up the drain holes when closed
