There are literally several dozens of write ups on this. Also your friend is a retard if he told you a b series wont fit. No the ac compressor will not bolt onto the block without an adapter bracket but they exist and are easily available.

Why is everyone so concerned with keeping the D-series A/C compressor... just take your lines out, and run a compressor/lines from a 'teg.. the damn evaporator is in the same place, and the lines will run right to it.
Or, you could buy the adapter plate, and that's alot easier.
B-series won't fit.. :shakehead

What is A/C? Isn't that just rolling the windows down? Whats the engine have to do with that other than how fast you go to get more air in?

I use 2-70... the improved model.
It used to be 4-70.. but no power windows, and I lost the rear window cranks :P
