92 Astro confusion

I have a 1992 Astro 2wd 4.3 Z. Recently I went out to start it and it turned over but wouldn't start. I discovered that there is no power to the fuel pump, headlamps, interior lights or horn. I checked all of the fuses in the fuse block and they are in tact. The fuel pump, fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch are all brand new. What am I missing?

Do you have power at the fuel pump fuse? if not check fuseable link behind battery.
Or put 12v to the fuel pump primer lead above HVAC module- and see if F/P comes on and van starts.
Since horn is on same circuit as F/P- I highly suspect the fuseabl link connector is melted behind the battery- you will need to replace both ends of connector- or do what I do- Improve on the design by wiring around the connector..it is only there for ease of assembly- it can be hardwired and soldered..

Ok... I looked behind the battery and found two plugs, neither of which look like a fuseable link. The first has a junction of four wires and resembles a towing light hookup and the second is a red wire that basically looks like it could hold a fuse but only appears to be a glorified waterproof connector. As far as the fuel pump fuse, the only thing I could find regarding that was the relay which I replaced already. There is no fuse for the fuel pump on the interior fuse block and judging by what I found on the internet, there is no underhood fuse block until the 96' model year. I'm ready to pull my hair out.

After re-examining the area behind the battery, I realized that the fuseable link is directly mounted to the firewall. When I wiggled it, my lights came on. I turned the key and WHAMMO, the van started. You're a genius! Thank you so much for giving me the help that that ASAE cert GM mechanic couldn't. I'm in your debt. Now the question... there are four wires feeding into that link. I have yet to disassemble the fuse link. Is there a replaceable fuse inside there?

For some reason, the site wont let me edit my last post so here goes. I disassembled the fuse link and discovered that two of the four connectors inside were melted. Posts "C" and "D". Do I hardwire A,B,C and D together and then to the power lead? Or can I use weather proof wire connectors on each of them and plug them separately into the powered receptacle? Thanks again for your time, effort and wisdom.

I cut all 4 wires out of that plug (they are the pink fuseable links) and crimp them in a round terminal and bolt it on the 12v accessory bolt right next to that plug- and you will never have the burnt connector problem again..
The horn inop is what confirmed it for me-- when mine happened, the wife was 40 miles away with the van- and I drove it home with the fuel pump jumpered to the test primer lead...
