Hey guys quick question, i just wired up a 2003 Olds Alero with a basic jvc deck, after a couple of wiring mishaps I thought i figured out the gay Alero wiring diagram, got the deck in powered on and working however i have noticed that sometimes if I start the car without letting the deck turn on after puting the key in the ignition the deck won't turn on at all, or does for about 3 sec when i press eject but nothing when I press power, I bought one of those Scosche mounting kits/harness/(plus the little adapter to bypass relocating the sterero) the adapter recieves power(noticeable by the "ding ding" when i open the door) its just really random how sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. And the morning after wiring it in the car, the battery was completly dead, all the wire color codes matched up, I ahve wired many stereos and never had this problem most likely due to the fact of the bypass adapter. Thanks in advance!

OK, here is an update, I have removed the stereo and put the factory one back in, the battery in the car was completely drained the morning after installing the radio.

I found this on the net and is my exact situation including Walmart, the solution to this problem(on that site) is not right at all.

Here is the two wiring set ups ive got

ON the Walmart harness/interface kit

Yellow = Constant +12V
Black = Ground
Red = Ignition Switched +12V
Orange(not connected) = Illumination
Blue/w Whiteline = +12V Remote(and something to do with Amp)didnt hear the guy on this one

On the JVC Deck

Yellow = Battery
Black = Ground
Blue/w Whiteline = Remote(max 200A)
Red = Accessory
Rest are all for speakers which were working correctly when the deck was on.

I was curius as to the meaning of the Blue/w Whiteline wire, I will not be running an amp yet just the aftermarket radio and factory speakers is this neccisary to connect, could it be causing the problem? Other then that all the wires are connected color for color.
Again, Thanks is advance!

sounds like either you have connected both power leds to the constant 12 volts and/or the adapter is not wired right. The blue/white wire is only for turning on an amp/eq/etc ..... it is not needed if you are not using any of these items. Disconnect it from the harness and tape it up.

So I took out the deck and put the factory one back in, I have concluded that there is something wrong with the battery or alternator the car is always dead after 1h+ non use and after boosting it with a portable pack however after a 20min drive to work and letting the car sit(off) for 8 hours the battery is too dead to start the car after work. Never had a problem until installking the stereo...
