fault code 54?

Hello,
I recently got a fault code 54 ( bad camshaft position sensor ) while driving at a constant speed. The only thing I noticed is that when I was driving I felt a slight "clunk" but I think that was due to my foot coming off of the throttle (so technically I was decellerating a little). Anyhow, it doesn't seem that code 54 should come on when I'm driving like that. I have no issues with start up or idling. I have noticed info. on how to replace or check to make sure the camshaft position sensor is the culprit but we'll see. I pulled the batt. terminal tonight to see if it replicates. It just doesn't seem right if my rig is running well. Any thoughts / similar experience?
