Hey guys,
I having a huge problem here and I don't know what else to do.:banghead:
First off my truck is a 1989 S-10, 4.3 L, 4x4, Automatic tranny.. Roughly 112,000 miles.
Back at the end of Aug, I replaced my spark plugs and spark plug wires to get rid of a miss I had and see if I could improve my gas milage. Well, that worked out ok but on sept 4th when I was on my way home from town my check engine light came on, then about 5 secs later it went out and my truck started to jerk, spit & sputter and run rough. As I came to a hill & gave it gas it really started to jerk, pop, and loose power. I could only go 40 mph up over a hill just to keep it from jerking too much.
Well, when I got it home, my dad said it could be a bad plug. I had a few good ones left and proceeded to change one & go try it out to see if it would fix my problem. had to do that 6 times. That didn't fix it. I went and got a new O2 sensor, changed my distrubitor cap. That didn't fix it either. My dad did find that the nut that holds the distrubitor in place was loose. After we adjusted the dist and tigthened it down it'll run ok for one trip then mess up again.
I even changed the coil this morning and it's still not running right. I'm thinking about putting my old plug wires back on.
When I go to start it it'll run ok cold. You can tell that there is a miss someplace. It runs alittle rough while ideling. It has acouple jerks going up over a hill but, when it warms up it gets way way worse. if I go to shut it off it won't hardly start. It's like the batt is almost dead. The check engine light hasn't came back on since it did that day on sept 4th.
Could it be that O2 sensor is bad even though it was brand new?
I really don't know what else to do. Can I have some suggestions? Could it be a sensor someplace that I don't know about? My one friend told me to check out an airflow sensor but I don't know where that is..
Well, Thanks for your time!!!

Hey, Wanted you to know that I put my old wires back on and in the middle of doing it my dad noticed that two of the new ones were laying on the manifold. Guess that was more then enough to give me problems. Anyways, it's running pretty good now..
