My buddy want to get rid of his 2000 durango 4x4. He has owned this truck since it was new. It has 188K on it! Original motor and trans. It was maintained perfectly, oil changes every 3k miles and trans servise every 40K. Is there anything i should look at or is this year prone to certian thing going wrong? oh im getting the truck for around a thousand dollars.
Thanks

I would say for that amount of money if it only lasted you a year it would still be a great deal. I have a 2002 SXT 4X4 and I love driving it. Good Luck.

Do it. But don't complain later about the gas mileage!

A grand for any functioning 4x4 is a pretty good deal no matter how you look at it....mileage does blow (suck) or whatever term you prefer for poor.

I own a 99 Durango. I love it. The problems I've seen with an aging Durango is the ball joints and heater core.

The Durangos are very bad gas hogs and use thier fuel very well
