Hey what's up, my friend can get a brand new Eclipse turbo for $200. The bad thing is I don't dick about turbo's so I don't know if this is a good turbo and a good price. I know the turbo's off a newer Eclipse I'm not sure what exactly what kind though is there different turbo's for Eclipse's? It is a stock turbo I know that not an aftermarket one, should I go this route or just save up and get a Greddy or some other kind of Turbo. I have a B16a2 in my 92 HB if that helps any, thanks for any help

I'd say forget that turbo. I think the greddy and Eclipse turbo is the same size . Get a Drag III kit.

I want to try to push at least 250 ponies I know that's not much but I don't what to put some crazy ass shit on it that's gonna make it unreliable, ya know.

I believe the eclipse turbo is the same as the greddy kit for the civic. You will beable to push 250 and that would net you some 13's. That would be a nice turbo for the street. Quick spool and some decent power.

the stock eclipse turbo is a td-04
the greedy upgrade is anywhere from a td-05-tb-08
the td-04 stock eclipse turbo is a decent turbo, if its in good condition and it can get u 2 ur goal of 250 hp on the gsr
so good luck

Just remember the b16a is a high compression engine, if you're going to be adding even more compression you're going to have to upgrade your stock internals or you'll blow your engine, especially an older one. This can be expensive. Plus you're still going to have to upgrade other things for the turbo like the fuel system plus get a BOV, etc, etc. Just make sure you have enough money for forced induction before you spend $200 and can't do anything with it.

Yeah I planned on doing all that because I think I have a blown head gasket. I'm pissed too because I've put less than 200 miles on my engine and I've had all kinds of problems with it. O well guess I replace everything I won't have to worry about it breakin, yeah know. O I'm getting a whole skunk2 top end. I do have a question though if I put skunk2 stage 1 cams will it matter if I turbo it? I heard some cams arn't good with turbo's, but I have no idea about it I've never had a turbo on a car so this is all new to me. Appreciate all the help though :D

Sounds like you're gonna have an awsome engine. If you have this kind of cash to blow you might consider a b18b instead of all this work on your b16a. It has much lower compression so you can add much more boost. You'll get lots more speed with this setup. Or you could keep the b16a head and replace the block with a b20. I think this is the best setup you can get. Be sure to post what you finally end up with! Oh and if you replace the gasket don't replace it with the OEM Honda one, they make aftermarket ones with much better heat related characteristics so look itno that. Good luck

the stock turbo from a 1st gen eclipse is a 14b

the stock turbo for a 2nd gen is a t25

unless you have a sohc and dont want to produce very much power forget using it. as for using it on a b series, dont even try. both 1st and second gen turbos run out of breath on a stock 4g63 let alone a gsr motor with a head the flows better and revs 1000+ rpm higher. sure its gonna spool quik as hell almost instantly but your gonna be very inefficient in higher rpms and actually lose a substantial amount of power.

200 is also to much for that turbo in my opinion.

check dsm trader or the parts trader, you can find used t3/t4's 16g's t3's all day for under 500 shipped.

its not that I have all that much money I can just get some parts for cheap cause my friend has the hook up with skunk2. Anyway theres no way I'm pulling my B16a out and putting a b16b in I've already replaced all kinds of shit on my engine, water pump, timing belt, clutch drive axles, oil pan seal. Anyway I think I might go with a T3 mabey I'll talk to my friend and see if he can get turbo stuff for cheap. What are those parts traders you were talking about "links please" Thanks a lot:smoker2:
