Fuel Filter SEIZED i think

i went to replace my fuel filter, and i think i got a BAD case of being seized on there, the threaded side. Car has 117000 miles, never been changed fuel filter. I sprayed a ton of Nut buster on there, but i dont know if that will help, im letting it soak a few days ahead of time, i already tried it once and it didnt budge. Any cases where it simply just will not come off and theres really nothing you can do about it.?

Gary, what nut is stuck? Is it the bolt that holds the fuel filter bracket to the frame or the line nut connecting the fuel line to the filter?

avoid using regular wrenches as they will round off the nut. There are trbing wrenches, but sometimes they dont work very good either.

I used a pair of snall vice grips and clamped on the nut, and used a regular wrench on the fuel filter and twisted it off that way. Just make sure your turning it the right way.

Vice Grip does make a pair the grips over rounded fastners,are not cheap and hard to find.I paid twelve dollars a piece for them at a vender down at Auburn during the Kruse Classic car auction about 2 weeks ago,a big pair and small pair.The size in the fuel filter is a 20mm,a 13/16 will fit sloppy

the nut on the fuel filter, not the bolt going into the frame bracket. I sprayed the heck out of the filter nut with PB Blaster, i have always got good luck with that stuff, im letting it soak over night. Thanks

When I replaced the fuel filter on my gp, I used line wrenches. I was able to get the filter out with no problems. Do not use cheap line wrenches will cause the nut to round off.
