2000 Taurus sway bar links broken

I have a 2000 Taurus and my sway bar links have broken. Both on the driver and passanger side in the rear. They are not damaged but completely fricken broken. Since I am fairly certain on the problem and how to fix it I only have one question.

How long do you think I could drive before repairing this?

Get it fixed within a week? (btw right now that would be difficult, hence my asking this)

Could it maybe last about a month? (Without having to worry too much about damaging anything such as my tires)

I have a 98 Taurus that had the same issue. I must have driven on them for a while before I noticed they were broken. I seem to remember that I started hearing something knocking every once in a while that set me to looking. Anyway, its fairly easy to replace. I seem to remember changing them with the car setting on the tires. Check a Haynes Repair Manual for the car first to make sure of the procedure. Don't get the MOOG manufactured links as they shear off even easier. I eventually went OME after putting two sets of MOOG in and taking them back broken after just a couple of weeks. I haven't had any problem since. Good Luck.

If it's really just the anti-sway bar end links that are broken, it's not a safety hazard so much (if you drive sanely) and it won't cause further damage to keep driving with them broken.

If you have a tendency to do high speed cornering or drive roads that have a lot of rolls to them, then it could become a safety concern for you and others on the road as your car won't handle quite as well.

On the last Taurus production runs, Ford left off sway bars.

my buddy's taurus had the same problem the material the end links are made of is epoxy and nylon fibers

The original white "dog bones" on the front of my 95 wagon didn't last much past 75k before they were lose enough to hear rattle when crossing dips. They were made of nylon. Good for shock absorption but lowsy for wear against a steel ball in it's ball joint. The grease must not have lasted long. The rubber boot sure didn't. Ford liked this design as they also used the same exact part on the heavier Windstar. The Federal Mogul replacement is all steel with tie rod end ball joints at each end. I like it much better than OEM. I seem to think Ford switched to an all steel link with the newer models.
