Cryogenic Treatment?

Has anyone ever used this on any of their auto parts? I am thinking about doing it for my brake rotors. I have read that after doing your brake rotors they often last 2x to 3x longer. It seems that a lot of people use it on weak pistons, crankshafts, and connecting rods. I found this site...

This is still squarely in the "black art" phase.

Conventional heat-treatments (which have well understood results) rely on the movement of metal atoms from one structure to another. When your metal has cooled to room temperature, there's very little movement remaining and little that can be accomplished (typical exceptions are the aging of quenched aluminium alloys and the diffusion of nitrogen and oxygen through steel to pin dislocations).
The time-temperature-transformation diagrams that accompany conventional heat treatments also stop at 0C (freezing point), I haven't seen any which go lower to lend any science to the claims of cryo-tempering.

So IMO the process isn't understood enough to verify or refute the claims. But do you really need brake rotors to last 3x as long? Many vehicles don't last long enough to wear out 1 or 2 sets of rotors. Let alone 3.
