front drive shaft

I have a 95 sonoma with a 6 inch suspention lift in it and my front drive shaft is making a cluncking noise when i drive but when i push the drive shaft further onto the transfercase spline output it stops making the noise ! but the drive shaft seems to work its way back to the same spot were it makes that noise again ! Do i need a custom drive shaft ?
