Sex Drugs and ..... Particle Physics? Scientists recreate the big-ficken-bang!

I will say it now, I am a huge geek nerd who loves all things science, chemistry, acoustics physics (currently my current major), cosmology, evolutionary biology, genetics i love it all, I have a deep interest in how the world and the universe works, and this just makes me fuzzy inside.

TOMORROW, history's largest science experiment will be fired in a gigantic particle accelerator that literally fires protons at each other, re-creating the first nano seconds of the big bang!

Oh, and to the uneducated majority who think this will end life on earth, get over your selves, ignorance is not proof that you know how shit works. Just to give an example, taken from one of those sites:
There have been claims that it will create "black holes" of intensive gravity sucking in CERN, Europe (http://www.newsdaily.com/news/science/europe/) and perhaps the whole planet, or that it will open the way for beings from another universe to invade through a "worm hole" in space-time.

The physicists just laughed at those people, and so am I.

That being said, this is so awesome, I can't WAIT to find out their findings! Stephen Hawkins, if he could get a boner will be jizzing his pants!

Have been following the LHC construction for a few years now.

It's interesting sure but just another experiment. Makes me think if this is the type of experiment that goes public what secret experiments are going on...

First thing that comes to mind is The Mist.

There was a leak near one of huge-ass magnets, it was forced to shut down while they repair the seal, they say it should be up and running next spring, I dun wanna wait that long :-( I wanna know the results now :-(

the potential results have me intrested but nervous at the same time
"we're going to recreate the big bang, ohh and we might devolop a black hole that swallows the planet"
great fricken' idea very cool in theory but with the possibility of complete anilation i may reccomend MUCH smaller scale research first
recreate the big bang without much reasurement that every thing will be fine and possibly destroy the planet in the process or do more research first, tough call

science 1 human rationality -400
its going to be a close race

the machine will be a fully operational battlestation by 2012. Axl Rose will fire the switch and blast Alderan to smithereens and stand on top with hair blowing through his dreads singing Take Me Down to Paradise City as the black hole he created sucks him in and collapses due to the enormous mass of his ego.
