The true cost of the mod sickness

I have been preparing my wish list of mods over the next year or so and just wondered how much it would cost once all is said and done. That got me thinking I would love to know the average for those on this board.
So I'll throw the question out here...How much have you spent on offroading modifications to the X as of now? I am being very specific; no stereo costs, or seat covers. I am referring to tires, shocks, lifts bumpers, racks, jacks, jerry cans, skid plates, rock sliders, torsion bars, AALs, shackles, winches, alignments (but not damage repair costs) etc.
What's the final pain the wallet for the joy of ride?

Currently, I have a rough estimate of about $5250 give or take a few hundred as I cannot remember the exact shipped cost of every mod. However, that figure will be rising as I a plan on adding a rear bumper with tire carrier, a couple more lights, and a roof rack in the near future. While it seems we all spend a great deal on mods, beefing up a truck for wheeling is much less expensive than the street racing scene. A friend of mine has dropped $25000 this past year alone in his Camaro.

Just over $1500. With another $2500 or so planned.

Keep in mind I bought my truck in August of 99 and now have 64K miles on it, including the drive out West (which was what got me to invest so much money in lights, safari rack, CO2 tank, battery, recovery gear, etc.) and back last year which totalled 5800 miles ...
TIRES - Since I'm just about to start on my second set of MT's I won't count them. The first set of 32's cost me $550.
SHOCKS - Ranchos $128, Bilsteins $128
BUMPERS - ARB $640, KMA $350 + $80
SAFARI RACK - $250
WARN MANUAL HUBS - $125
HI-LIFT JACK - $50
CO2 AIRTANK & PARTS - $180
FULLY BELLY SKID PLATES - $550 + $200 (gas tank plate)
T-BARS, A-ARMS, etc. - $450
SHACKLES - $45
AAL's - $60
OPTIMA RED TOP - $120
WINCH & ACCESSORY KIT - $850
OTHER RECOVERY GEAR (tow straps, D-rings, etc.) - ~$80
ROCK SLIDERS - $70 (first set of EOE sliders ever made)
LIGHTS - 2 sets of IPF 960's - $300
I think that's a good enough list for now.

TOTAL SO FAR OVER THE PAST 2 YRS. - $4978

Hmmm, I think I'm up to about $2200 so far. Let's add things up:
ARB Bumper...........................$350
Rear Bumper and Tire carrier...$750 (I think)
Jerry Can...............................$ 30
Jerry Can bracket...................$ 50
Hi-Lift.....................................$ 50
Rancho Shocks (used).............$ 75
Pirelli Scorpion A/T's (5)..........$550
Shackles (not used now, but)... $ 60
AAL's......................................$ 60
IPF JO-1 lights.........................$300
Optima Battery........................$ 80
CB and anteanna.....................$125
AC/Rancho Steering Stabilizer..$ 60
Ack, that's $2540 and doesn't include the other $2500 or more for stereo, tools, and miscellaneous items. No wonder I don't have any freaking money in the bank!

Some of the members in our club were able to get a deal on ARB's because they were "refurbished" Meaning they were damaged in transit and repaired. Ben got the last one.

sorry, yes my ARB was damaged, there was a dent smaller than a dime in the wing (and it was on the metal that FACES the wheel) you can not see it at all and I will be cutting that area off anyways to fit the 33"s ;-)

Gotcha ... you better save up some pennies for new gears!

Hmmm, now that I think about it, I think I paid $300 for my ARB too. I can't remember for sure. I know I gave Mark an extra $80 to redrill it (It's a Navara bar), weld the spacers in, and install it for me and I didn't include that in my price.
I also included my jerry can mount and stuff in my bumper price and then listed it seperatly. Oops! Not a huge impact, but I unintentionally lied! :o
My bumper was bent on the right wing and it looks a little lumpy on top if you look closely but most people don't notice it. I figured it would probably get more bends and dents eventually anyway! :D
The Optima Red Top was on sale at GI Joe's so I bought it!
$60 was the price from 4x4 parts with shipping on the stabilizer unless rrdstarr lied to me! I think it's listed at $55 on their website.

@#$%, you want an itemized inventory? :) Damn this thing is expensive, but worth every dime.
On-board air system complete with rear air locker. $1,500
Dual batteries complete with cabling and isolator. $900
Custom steering stabilizer (no one made them when I built mine) $80 and a lot of my time to design it.
Custom lightbar with accessory harness (converted factory crossbar). $300 including lights and wiring. (That also includes the two 100 watt lights on the POS Waag seen below.)
Waag (POS damaged at Tellico) $300
And I am getting ready to add a rear bumper with spare tire carrier, front air locker, 3" SLR lift with new spring pack and torsion bars, transfer case skidplate, rock sliders and new tires and wheels. I have to admit though, it was all worth every penny so far. When the X is setup, it may not be the greatest truck in the world (but then again, what truck is), but it sure shocks people at the stuff it can do.

(I'm trying to make myself feel better, so....) A better question might be, how much would people be willing (or required) to shell out to get unstuck or to remove the permanently tree indented passenger door? I think that most would agree that prevention costs far less than wheelin' unprotected or ill-equiped! (yes, I can rationalize among the best of 'em);)

$1500 to fix my door. If I had my rear bumper with tow points back then and/or sliderz I would have gotten out for free.

Hmmm, they must have changed the price (maybe it got put up on the site wrong until a bunch of people started calling!). I actually wouldn't have ordered one if it had been listed at $79 when I looked it up. rrdstarr actually did the order though so they could ship together and I paid him. I hope I don't owe him any money or he tells me if I do! Now that I think about it, I think the site actually said $49 so I was surprised when rrdstarr told me they were actually $55. Weird!

All I see is "Steering Stabilizer-Complete Kit $59.95" unless there is another one listed there that I don't see. Anyway, I guess that is really the price I saw before and I don't see the one you are talking about. Doesn't matter though. I just want to know if I owe you more money?
At the rate I'm getting ready you won't have to kick my butt. You will probably be able to just push me and I'll fall!

the only way to increase hp is to add an exhaust system and a new intake. try using the search function, theres tons of info on this topic.
