Grinding noise

I have a 2002 2.2L Z22 standard transmission. Ever since i bought the car it has made a light grinding noise from the front end. My clutch is more than likely just fine. I slid under the car and didnt see anything loose. It only makes the noise in first and second gear, between 1000 and 2000 RPM'S, and goes away when the clutch is pushed in, as well as the sound not being present while idling. the only thing i found was a loose part on the air conditing unit. but i really dont think that that is the problem. My buddy and i are going crazy trying to diagnose the problem. any ideas???

i have the same thing that is wrong with my car.. its a 97 cavy and it does the same thing..when it is idleing it stops and when i hit the gas it stops but when it is in gear and i let off the gas petal thats when i hear it.. you might want to check your fluid level in your transmission cause i just found out that mine is almost out of fluid in the transmission... hit me back if you need anymore help with that

Change your fluid, and I bet it goes away.
