front bumper body kit

Ok, I know everyone is going to say take it to a professional. When you take the front stock bumper off, are you taking just the cover off or the whole bumper assembly?

on most modern cars, you're taking off the plastic bumper, behind that is the bumper beam.

So just the plastic comes off. Everything underneath is staying there? I haven't removed a bumper before.

Yes this is just a plastic shield but the bumper beam is removable (I belive) this is why you can't use a jack on the bumper anymore. This plastic would have to be removed before you would place an underbody kit on this application. Most kits have a custom bumper that replaces the OEM one.

And so each place I take a bolt out on the stock bumper is where I am to drill a whole at on the new bumper so that I can bolt it on correct?

Good point. So I think what I should do is get the bumper off first then take as many measurements as I can, see where I need to drill at on the new bumper and then after plenty of planning then do the work. Ill have to do that for the rear and side skirts I believe. Anything else? I think I'm going to need something to hold the car up while I'm working cause once everything is on, I'm going to have trouble getting it down from the jack stands or whatever i use. Any ideas?
