I have posted before and got lots of great help to my earlier questions. But I have a few more now....
I know there was a thread about what other rims would fit a GA but I can not find it now. Any one know the link?
I kinda ruined my lens on my taillights and was wondering if any other vehicles taillights would fit on a GA. I can do wiring thats no problem. Just looking for something different with out paying like $200 for a new set.
Any one else have problems with the truck not staying closed? IDK what the problem is but if we open the truck then close it it likes to keep popping its self back open. Kind of annoying when its raining or were out in town.
I have read the exhaust and they all talk about new mufflers... but whaat if i just replace the resonator with a piece of straight pipe? would it damage the engine or cat? I wouldn't think so but idk. And would it give a noticeable change in tone??
And also our car is constantly over heating. I have replaced the thermostat and it didn't help. I even added water wetter which helped a little for about 2 days. We arn't losing any antifreeze. But the car is running 220+ and I am tired of having the heat running none stop. When it's 90+ degrees and my wife heard it would keep the engine cooler... It sucks.
O its a 99 gt 3.4l
Thanks for any and all help

The tail lenses will be vehicle specific. Salvage yards will have them typically ten cents on the dollar. Aftermarket companies like keystone will also have them and generally about half the cost of O.E. parts.
The trunk latch may be the problem. You can take a screwdriver and insert it into the latch and ingage it then try to pull down. If the latch pops than that is the problem.
GM cooling fans don't come one till the car is around 220 degrees. Unless it is getting hotter than that it is not overheating. I have also run into several inacurate gauges on these vehicles as well. The easiest way to tell is with a scan tool that shows engine data.
If you're loosing coolant a likely source would be the lower intake gaskets but these engines also have issues with head gaskets as well. It seems that the 3.4 in the minivans are more prone to this than the ones in the cars.

thier are several GM rims that will fit they just should be FWD rims.
On the muffler thing it doesnt hurt to remove the resonator.
The flo master 80 series(#42583 i think) is a good replacement for your restrictive stock muffler.
On the over heating it could also be air in your cooling system but you very well could have some bad gaskets very common with the 3.4's :disappoin

i have a question about removing the resonator. even if i keep the stock exhaust for a while, and i remove the resonator, will it sound better? how would the stock exhaust sound with the resonator removed. i am planning on upgrading but not for a while.

Thats what i did, everyone had mufflers i said funk that just delete my resonator and no muffler, and i havent had any cat problems for about 2 years, and yessir it will be a big noticeable change in tone heres what mine sounds like, this was the same day i got it its gotten louder over time tho.
hope this helps.

I have a pic somewhere of these resonators .
You cant see thru the center because of the crap inside muffling the sound... and choking your engine.
