or any other online web sites?
I'm deciding whether or not to buy some models online to avoid the extremely overpriced products in Toronto... thus, leads me to a few questions:
1. How do import taxes affect the shipment?
2. How does the price of the product/s affect the import taxes?
well... I'm still unclear after reading the overviews on HLJ... Confused of this process... so if anyone is kind enough, please tell me the process of their purchases.. thanks

i personally haven't order anything over thru the internet
my friend have and he tells me that once everything including import fees add up it is basically the same price as any kits here... but you don't have a wide selection

Ive seen this topic crop up several times, im not too sure what you guys mean by overpriced tho. I pay between $30-35CDN MAX taxes includ for any model tamiya or fujimi or Aoshima. I think thats a pretty good price already. How much cheaper do u want it to be?
I buy all my models from Pacific Mall

There are no duties but there are taxes. $5 canada post handling fee + GST and PST based on the price of your order.

And I dun hve to pay tax there
So nice living in Canada
Im gonna tell my uncle to buy an Enzo from HK (They cost about $100 HK$) and ship it to me. (cuz I rarely go to tah store)
anyway, just buy more stuff there and u can get tax free. :D

Exactly, ive been dealing with them for over 10years, i kno the owners as well, i dont pay tax for anything at all. Of course i pay cash tho. I also get a discount on the models, so avg $30 a kit. Also the small store couple stores down from pacific models, have great deals for me as well. I never pay tax once agian, and avg 25-30 a model.

Ordering through HLJ is depending on your luck to get custom charge or not. I frequently order from HLJ. I would say 1 in every 5 times you would have to pay for the tax.

i've order stuff from hlj before, but my order is small like 2 set of rims and the total price is just abit over 20bucks, and i don't have to pay any customs fee. I agree that ordering online will give u a lots more on selection like rims and models. Also 30 bucks a kit sounds cheap, here in vancouver, it's like 40+ without tax for a skyline vspec2.
and yes, i'm chinese too.;)
hey, endlesskev86, there's only 2 models shop in richmond rit?
one on no.3 and one in public market rit?
