injector seals

Hey Guys, I am in need of some advise. I need to replace the seals on the injector on my car. I bought them today at work and I never have done this before on a 4.6. There is a coned shape device that came with them. I thought you just slide them off and slide the news ones on, then I was told you have to use a lube to put them on. Like Vaseline. Has any one done this before? Thanks..

Vaseline is good if you have nothing else, even plain old motor oil will work. I usually use STP or a good all purpose grease with graphite in it. Greased, it goes on so much easier and is less likely to "scuff" the seal.

Good luck and have fun,

Sense the fuel Injectors are already out,you might want to consider ''out of
car Injector service''. A diesel shop can clean, blow out,and check the
flow rate of each injector.

CAUTION - Becarful ,I have seen extra seals jammed in the fuel rail.

I guess ,the seals are like trying to put a small condon on!
