I think they are awesome. When they lose a 100kg or 2 they will be the mass produced car on the australian market.

This car gives me the horn, having driven the XR6 T (briefly) the BA series are twice the car the AU was. I would have thought that GM would have at least put some decent wheel/tyre packages on the VY ,even the acclaim (NZ market) which is the Futura equivalent ( according to the salespeople ) only has 15 inch rims and you have to right up to the Berlina (fairmont) to get 16 inch rims. The base XT falcon has 16 inch steel wheels as standard so Ford have really thrown the kitchen sink into the BA. I note the new Vectra is going to be around 20 plus % more exspensive than the old model when April 14 rolls around but with no competition from Ford in this class they can probably afford to , dont be too suprised if Mr Polites decides he wants the Belgian after all, its selling like hot cakes over here.

The Mondeo will probably never return to Australia- the 2.0 midsize segment is dead over there if the Aussies want a car they either buy a small one or a big one- unlike Kiwis who tend to go in between hence the Mondeo's strong sales.
As for the GT I like it a lot! I hear it retails for AU$60,000 in base form as well

Yeh 5.4L ain't 302ci. And yes it is nicely similar to the boss 429 motor. (slightly bigger too, not capacity wise, just bulk wise)

Gt would be better if it shed the kilos and gained some killowatts, its what everyone is saying.
