Airbags?

I have to do a senior project for my auto-tech program. My topic is airbags. If anyone has any recommendations for sources such as books, magazines, websites or anything of that nature I'd be happy to hear them.
For my presentation I need to have some sort of product. One option is actually deploying an airbag for the panel. I could really use some help for this one as I'm unsure how and what would need to be done to deploy an airbag in a shop for a demonstration.
The other option is making a product board. If I went this route what kind of things would I need to have on it and where might I get a hold of such things.
Also, If you have experience, which one of these options sounds like it would be the easiest?

Welcome to the forum!
You may want to contact one of the approved vendors on this forum, username Dugan50. His site is http://www.airbagsolutions.com/
Good luck with your project! I hope you have hearing protection for when you activate the airbag!

Unless you're trained to work with airbags, don't even think of deploying one. I've been hit by airbags both in crashes and while installing them. It's not pleasant to be hit by them, and they can can cause serious injury if you're not extremely careful. When airbags are disposed of they're deployed using special equipment to deploy them safely. Hearing and eye protection is 100% neccessary, as well as knowing what to expect.
For your demonstration, i'd reccomend going to a junk yard and finding a car that's been crashed and has had the airbags deploy. Alternatively, i can get you a deployed airbag from where i work (as i have one) but shipping would be expensive.
Don't trying to deploy one yourself, you could end up deaf blind and injured.
Airbags are pyrotechnic devices, they're not something you mess around with.
