EGR Valve Etc.

My 1999 F-150 did not pass inspection because of the EGR valve. It was replaced along with whatever gaskets, etc. I was told to drive it for at least 80 miles before trying to have it inspected again. (I know I'm probably an idiot!) Drove it less than 15 miles and the Service Engine light came on again. Had it checked, was told it was the EGR valve!!! I am so frustrated, I replaced the valve and all the other things that go along with it. Why is the serivce engine light continuing to come on and when it is checked it indicates the EGR valve? I'm ready to just unhook my battery, reconnect it then go have it inspected. What else can I do? :banghead:

Pull the EGR valve and clean the inlet to the valve good. They have a tendency to plug up in this area. This sets a low flow code. The DPFE sensor causes a lot of egr codes.
Make sure all tubing for this sensor is clean. This sensor goes bad more than the EGR.
After you clean suggested areas ask Advanced or Auto Zone to delete the codes for you free.
