96 cavalier idle problems

I have a 96 cavalier with a 2.2L engine. It runs good until it reaches normal temperature and then it runs like crap. The fuel pump and filter have been replaced. I've been told that it could be the iac valve or the TCC solenoid. But i thought i would see what other folks thought about the situation. It also does ok on cold days for some reason it runs very rough on hot days. It boggs down if i try to rev the engine and dies. I am out of ideas so a reply would be greatly appreciated.

To me it sounds as though it is dying when it enters closed loop, when the computer starts "paying attention" to the different sensor inputs to determine A/F ratio. Monitoring sensor inputs with a scan tool would be the easiest way to determine this; there may even be a code stored in it. It could be the IAC or ECT (engine coolant temp sensor). But those are just guesses and there are other possible causes also.

Does it have a general lack in power? It could be a plugged converter or bad ignition coil(s).

Well ifits moving its fine it only dies when i come toa complete stop. You ever ran a 2 cycle engine when its cold? You give it gas and it boggs down? well it does that...i throw it in N and try to keep it running by feathering the gas pedal. SOmethimes that works sometimes it doesn't. But a general loss in power? Nah

I would still bet on a sensor. Scan data/codes would be where I would start.
