Did you remove the carrier bearing caps? If you did ,you might have to rent a case spreader. If you carefully pry on it , it might drop out. Be careful.
If it does come out you still might have a prob getting it back in without the spreader.

The carrier in my Jeep was stubborn to come out (sign of a nice tight fit at least). Get some kind of cushions (old pillows or something), maybe even a friend below the diff to catch the guts if it pops out suddenly and carefully put something soft around the carrier to pull on (towel, CLEAN tow strap, etc) and try that. I did one once and had to put both feet on the axle tubes and pulled hard. You -need- to have someone or something to catch it when it falls or you will do damage to it (it is not meant to be dirty or dropped). To put it back in I used a block of soft wood (fresh pine 2x4 works) and a rubber mallet and tapped the carrier back it a little on each side at a time so it went in straight.

You need a special tool to set that rear end up,it is a long 5/8" bar with a bigger hex on it.Miller tool whom makes Chrysler's special tools sells it.Do not attempt setting it up without the special tool.

The tool screw in two screw ins which I call nuts.Pull both caps and you will see them, they have threads in them.Check the backlash before pulling apart with a dial indicator and write that down.

You should only have to remove the caps for it to come. BTW, did you get it out?

Nope havent got it out... going to take it to a dealer....
I am assuming I have a 3:55 ratio if I put a 3:90 or more in it will it be stronger for towing and such (its a daily driver as well)

You did remove the 2 bearing caps correct? And anything is better than 3:55's. You know you have to change the front gears too if you do the back.
