Does anyone know what will add more horsepower, hooker street headers with flowmaster exhaust or a new Edelbrock 5056 Torker II, Single Plane, Aluminum, Natural, Square Bore Intake Manifold? I have a mild cam and the origional 850 cfm quadrajet carb.....any help would be nice

It has been said, dollar for dollar, there is NO greater "bolt on" power adder than headers. I assume (always a dangerous propsition) this is a 400 Pontiac and not a 403 Olds. Correct? Since there is no Torker II for Olds, I hope this is correct...
Anyway, use the SuperComps, not the Comps. Have them shipped, UNCOATED, to a good coating shop. we use Thermal Tech in Hopewell, VA, but jet Hot and Swain are two others that come to mind. The "ceramic" coating from Hooker won't last. That's pretty much true from ANY header supplier...
If ground clearance is a major issue (road racer, handling over accelleration), use Mad Dog headers instead. Do a google on "Mad Dog Headers".
For future modifications, the Q-Jet is excellent. Cliff's High Performance in Mt. Vernon, Ohio is the best at building them. And that's an 800 CFM, not 850 (just for clarification). If you stay with the 400 (no stroking...), the factory iron intake ('67-'72) is more desirable than any other for the T/A (the shaker fits without modifications). It makes better low-end power, and as well or better than the Torkers (1 and 2) for mid-range (up to about 5,500). If you DO stroke it, T-1 is better for Q-Jet and T-2 for Holley.
I suggest you buy Jim Hand's book "How to Build Max-performance Pontiac V8s" by SA Designs. This is the most current study of the ol' Injun out there, especially for street performance. It's plenty easy to get 500 streetable HP on pump gas, without breaking the "bank".
