Crankshaft Position - Variation Learn Procedure

I have been reading the posts about replacing the crankshaft position sensor and looked over the instructions for changing it out. I'm fairly sure I can do it.
But at the end it says there is no adjusting or no gap alignment or anything to do.... just bolt on the new sendsor and replace everything in reverse order.
But my question is: Don't you have to do a Crankshaft Position (CKP) - Variation Learn Procedure? If so do you have instructions on that?
I have been trying to trace down a problem of getting a Code of 0332 with my code reader which says it is a ping in the engine.
It never happens just driving around town. Only when I get on the interstate and usually only after filling up. And it seems to code out after about 1-5 miles after getting ont he interstate. It doesn't matter what what octane I use. But usally use 91 sometimes 89
I have a 99 Grand Prix GTP 90k miles
I have changed:
Plugs and plug wires
coils
Ignition module
I have had the car into the dealer 5-6 times to check it out. And of course they find something that is sure to fix the problem and it never does. Just fixes my credit card.
Got any ideas?
Thanks

I seriously doubt the DTC of P0332 you are getting is caused by a crank position sensor. And all the crank variation (case learn) procedure will do is allow the PCM to discriminate against false misfires. When replacing the crank sensor it is recommended but not necessary since the sensor has no adjustment and fixed when bolted on. A GM Tech II or scan tool capable of performing the procedure is needed.
Check into the second knock sensor which is located on the rear (firewall side) of the engine block and the wiring/connector. Also, with a full function scan tool you can check knock retard (KR) which is probably causing the pinging, if any. The DTC means there is a knock sensor 2 circuit problem - electrical. Low input or input fault.
