Ok, I went to an audio place, Cartoys, and they said 6.5 speakers for the door. I bought a pair, took my door apart, and I have probably 4-5.25'' speakers in currently. Where can I get a converter that makes it so 6.5 speakers work? Or, does it cost alot? And, what do they call the plastic speaker holders?

I have a 1990 Accord 2 Dr and have exactly the same problem. The speakers are 6.25" - although everything I can find about the car says they are 6.5". The same goes for the speakers in the rear deck.

I'm trying to figure out a way to mount the speakers now. Did you have any luck?

Nope. I went out and bought the 4'' speakers. The 6.5 would not fit in the mounts that the car came with. I took off the mounts so the speaker was the only thing in the hole where the mount went into, but it stuck too far in and was in the way of the window when it rolled down.

all it takes is a dremel or tool of sorts, a little fabrication, and some time. trim to fit and drill some new mounting holes and presto. i'm actually heading out soon to do that exact thing. i'll let you know how it goes.
