transmission flush/fill

I have a 2001 grand prix gt 3.8 n/s. I am the second owner of this car and have had it for about 6 months the previous owner never changed the tranny fluid or did anything with it mine is kind of dark and has a smell, The car has 158.xxx miles on it some people have told me never to change it that doing so would loosen up shavings inside the pan other people have told me to change it and add some lucas trans seal. :screwy: I want some more opinions before i do anything. It shifts fine just a little paranoid about a new tranny :screwy:

Just do a pan drop service and a new screen filter. ATF will be around 7 qts. Do not get a flush with your mileage.
